About the Role:
ZKTeco WFM is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to lead our established accounting function and supervise two accounting staff. Reporting directly to the CEO/Owner, you will oversee daily operations, own the month-end close, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. With documented procedures and support from external CPA and sales tax professionals, you’ll have the resources to succeed and the autonomy to make improvements. This on-site role in Tampa is an opportunity for an experienced accountant ready to take ownership, lead a small team, and make a visible impact on a growing business.
Responsibilities:
- Run the accounting department independently, including daily operations, priorities, deadlines, and results.
- Lead the accounting team, including assigning work, reviewing output, training, setting expectations, and addressing performance issues.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process.
- Make, review, audit journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Own Accounts Receivable and collections, ensuring invoices are accurate, aging is managed, and past-due balances are actively pursued.
- Own Accounts Payable, vendor payments, and approval controls, ensuring payments are accurate, authorized, and on time.
- Own monthly company credit card reconciliation, including receipt collection, expense coding, cardholder accountability, and timely resolution of unsupported or non-business charges.
- Coordinate annual audits and work directly with external CPA firms.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, insurance providers, sales tax consultants, and other financial partners.
- Own sales tax compliance across all jurisdictions, including nexus monitoring, exemption certificates, filings, and payments, working with sales tax consultant.
- Own financial policies, SOPs, and internal controls company-wide. Review and improve existing procedures, and enforce compliance across sales, operations, purchasing, and other departments, including expense reporting, purchase approvals, credit card use, and invoicing documentation.
- Identify issues proactively and drive timely resolution.
- Deliver accurate monthly financial statements and analysis to the CEO/Owner, with clear explanations of variances, risks, and required actions.
- Keep accounting procedures documented and the team cross-trained so work continues without interruption during absences.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a senior or managerial role
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (ZOHO, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Solid knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance
- Experience in the technology industry or a fast-growing company is a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders

Compensation: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
